THE SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING (Police and Citizen Recognition) of the City of Port Orange was called to order by Mayor Allen Green at 6:00 p.m.

B.        RECOGNITION OF POLICE OFFICERS AND CITIZENS

Chief Monahan advised the Council that the City of Port Orange Police Department has several awards and commendations to present to police officers and citizens.  These awards will be brought to Council a few times throughout the year since there is no longer a banquet due to budget cuts. Sheriff Ben Johnson of the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office and Chief Chitwood from the Daytona Beach Police Department are present.

Assistant Chief Wayne Miller presented awards and commendations to several police officers from the Port Orange Police Department, Daytona Beach Police Department, and the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.
