The Planning Commission shall limit the initial amount of time allotted for each applicant’s presentation to fifteen minutes.  The Commission Chairman shall apportion the time available for citizen participation on all agenda items.


The Commission will not hear new items after 8:00 p.m. unless authorized by a majority vote of the Commission members present.  Items, which have not been heard by 8:00 p.m., may be continued to a date and time certain, or to the next regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission, as determined by affirmative votes of the majority of the Board Members present.

10-1 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT (LARGE SCALE)/Shaddix Communities Ltd., applicant/owner

4000 S. Clyde Morris Boulevard


A request for approval of a large-scale amendment to the City’s Comprehensive Plan – Update ‘98. The amendment proposes to change the future land use designation of 81.9 acres located at 4000 S. Clyde Morris Boulevard from Volusia County Urban Medium Intensity to City of Port Orange Urban Low Density Residential and Office/Residential Transition. The site is commonly known as Colony in the Woods.

An administrative request to amend Chapter 11, Section 3 of the City of Port Orange Land Development Code relating to cross connection control requirements. If approved, the amendment will provide a cross-reference to the City’s Code of Ordinances, Article VIII, Chapter 74, which provides specific guidance concerning uses of potable water, sanitary sewer, industrial pretreatment, reclaimed water, water conservation, and cross connection control.

LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE AMENDMENT/ Chapter 8, Article III – Flood Damage Prevention


An administrative request to amend Chapter 8, Article III of the City of Port Orange Land Development Code in order to update the City’s floodplain ordinance.  The proposed amendments were recommended by F.E.M.A. and will provide consistency between the City’s Land Development Code and the State of Florida Model Floodplain Management Ordinance.
