  1. Financial Report

Michael Collins, KemperSports, presented the financial report for the month of May, 2011:† total revenue $115,873; budgeted was $124,338 exceeding budget by $8,465.† Total payroll for the month was $59,031, budgeted was $58,139, exceeding budget by $892; prior year was $64,307, coming in below prior year by $5,275.† Total operating expenditures for the facility was $43,275, budgeted was $38,372, exceeding budget by $4,903; prior year was $50,798, coming in below prior year by $7,523.† The bottom line is -$194.00, budgeted was $15,483, missing budget by $14,677; prior year was -$5,935, exceeding prior year by $5,741.† Total rounds were 4,173, budgeted was 3,685, exceeding budget by 488; prior year was 4,053, exceeding last year by 120 rounds.† Mayor Green asked why the Golf Course is in the negative.† Mr. Collins stated it is due to the closure of the course for aerification a bit earlier this year and the cold snap right after slowed the healing process and extended the discounted period.† He also remarked that some repairs that are typically done in June were done in May this year.† Mr. Catarino stated some of the increased expenses are from the aerification and an unemployment compensation fund increase.

Mr. Parker asked about the R & R fees.† Mr. Catarino stated all types of users pay the fees.†

A motion was made by Ken Parker, seconded by Allen Green, to approve financial report.† The Motion carried.

  1. Evaluation Report

The aerification procedure went well and was completed in a day and a half but the proceeding drop in temperature prolonged the healing stage.† The course is in great shape now while a lot of the competition is still in the aerification or healing stage.† The Golf Shop is up 20% over budget.† The restaurant and bar areas are clean, tidy, and neat.† The trim in the entrance area of the clubhouse and cart barn area is being painted to match the logo coloring.† Mr. Green advised Mr. Collins to have the paint manufacturer write the specs and then to have the painters give bids according to those specs.† This is the only way the paint will be guaranteed.† Mr. Pickavance will contact Warren Pike to get information about the possible use of the perennial peanut groundcover for some areas of the golf course grounds. The bridge on 17 will be repaired shortly once the lumber comes in.† Mr. Parker remarked the new bridge must be in compliance with current safety standards.† Mr. Parker said he will have the Cityís Risk Manager come out to look at the bridge to determine if it should be removed immediately or not.†† ††

A motion was made by Ken Parker, seconded by Allen Green, to approve evaluation report.† The Motion carried.

Other Business:

Mr. Green remarked about how loud the restaurant/bar area is.† He asked Mr. Collins to look over the material samples he provided and to get estimates of the cost of covering the walls to lessen the noise volume.†

Mr. Parker remarked to Mr. Catarino that he has not seen the budget yet and that it needs to be set up for Council review and for presentation at the City Council meeting on July 26th.††

Adjournment:† Meeting was adjourned at 5:07 p.m.
