|Engineering Tools & Assistance|
The Engineering division of the Community Development Department provides technical and professional support consistent with good engineering principals and the requirements of the Port Orange Land Development Code.
Engineering is tasked with ensuring that all development within the City, both public and private, meets a high standard of excellence to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the public.
The division's responsibilities include:
- Engineering and environmental review and inspection of development projects,
- management of many of the City Capital Improvement Projects,
- Floodplain management including the FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) National Flood Insurance Program,
- Stormwater management as required by the MS II (Municipal Separate Stormwater System) permit issued by the FDEP (Florida Department of Environmental Protection).
