Yes. If your business is able to be renewed online, you will be provided a pin number in your Business Tax renewal letter.
If no pin number is shown, please visit us at the Community Development Department located on the 2nd floor of 1000 City Center Circle in City Hall, or you can mail payment by check. Please remember to include your State License with return renewal letter and payment.

Under Florida Statutes a business can be named for the individual without registration of the business name. (Ex. John Smith Business) The business name does need to match the individual's formal first and last name. If you choose to use a name other than your formal full name, a Fictitious Registration with the Florida Department of State, Division of Corporations is required. Registration can be completed online at Sunbiz.

Fees vary based upon the classification your business is assigned. Classifications are determined by the type of service or services offered. Business Tax Receipts are paid for on a yearly basis. Renewals are mailed July 1st and all Business Tax Receipts expire September 30th.
Yes, all business located with in the City of Port Orange are required to obtain a Business Tax Receipt. Any occupation that is required to hold a state license must provide a copy of their license with the application package and at renewal. A Business Tax Receipt cannot be released until the state license or certification is provided.
