Congratulations Councilwoman Elect - Marilyn Ford for Port Orange District 1 City Council Seat

Marilyn Ford holds masters and doctoral degrees in criminal justice from the University at Albany (New York), and a bachelor’s degree in Service and Community Planning from the University of Buffalo. She is credentialed as a Certified Jail Manager and grant writer.  Councilwoman-Elect Ford held leadership positions at the Volusia County jail for over 20 years, including 9 years as its Corrections Director. She has taught at the university level and worked on federal criminal justice grants. Councilwoman-Elect Ford has published over a dozen articles and given more than 50 papers on criminal justice and corrections. She is active in numerous professional associations.  Marilyn has a record of community service on the United Way, the Junior League of Daytona Beach, the Museum of Arts & Sciences, and her church.  A resident of Port Orange since 1986, she has been active in community projects and organizations..
