Major Special Event: A Major Special Event requires City Council approval and the application must be submitted at least 45 days prior to the first day of the requested Major Special Event.
A Major Special Event includes an event that meets one of the criteria listed below:
a. Affects area(s) beyond the City of Port Orange;
b. Requires one or more roadway closures (except for block parties);
c. Hours of operation beyond 11:00 p.m.; or
d. Held in conjunction with a regional event (e.g. Bike Week, Biketoberfest, Race Weeks).
Minor Special Event: A Minor Special Event is an event that does not meet all of the items above as "Major Special Event" and is 7 or less days. If a minor event is proposed and expected to last more than 7 consecutive days, it requires City Council approval and the application must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the first day of the event.
