Volusia Community Organizations Active in Disaster

Volusia Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) is a multi-agency group that assists local governments in organizing and deploying volunteers and resources in response to the unmet needs of local disaster survivors. Membership is open to individuals, faith-based groups, government agencies, civic clubs, volunteer organizations, social service agencies, business people and emergency management personnel. For more information, visit www.volusiacoad.org or call 386-872-3705 in east Volusia or 386-561-9767 in west Volusia.

CERT: Community Emergency Response Team

CERT members are trained in basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and disaster medical operations. You will learn how to prepare for emergencies, what supplies you should NOW have in your house, how much food, how much water but most importantly, how to protect your family in an emergency!

Port Orange participates in the Volusia COAD's CERT program with classes throughout the year. Check back for more information or call Fire Administration.
