SELECTION PROCESS
 All
applicants must meet the strict standards for hiring eligibility established by
the Port Orange Police Department. The selection process includes successfully
passing the following steps:

Meet the minimum requirements

Complete a City of Port Orange police officer application |

Participate in written and oral exercises |

Physical agility test |
|
Background investigation |
|
Polygraph examination |

Psychological evaluation |

Drug Screen |

Medical Exam |
In addition, the Port Orange Police Department
requires that all officers have a valid Florida driver’s license, and visual
ability correctable to 20/20 with glasses or contact lenses.
