On Jan. 19, 2008, pogTV will move to
Channel 199. Bright House Networks is
transferring pogTV’s channel location in
order to prepare for the required FCC
broadcast change to a digital format. All
Central Florida Government Access TV
Stations are moving to the digital
channels. In order to view pogTV on
Channel 199 you need a digital TV or a
converter. Contact the local Bright House
office at 386-760-9950 to get the converter
box for $1 per month. As always, you can
view pogTV 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
via our web site video stream.
Port Orange Govt. TV is now heading
into its third year on air. Port
Orange Government TV (pogTV)
channel 199 went on the air March 29, 2005,
fulltime on June 1, 2005, and on web June
1, 2006! The web streaming feature is
the completion of Phase 2 of pogTV’s an
overall 3 phased Master Plan. In the
future, pogTV will purchase field cameras
and mixing equipment to cover events,
parades, and concerts live.
Beginning in 2004, the City worked a year
and a half with consultants to develop then
install and test the equipment.
Broadcasting to over 20,000 homes and the
world, pogTV was the
first and only municipality in Volusia
County to have it’s
own TV station and go on-air. Programming
consists of City Council meetings,
community events, concerts, and general
information. Also, watch the City produced
news magazine show “Insight Port Orange,”
learned about new residential and
commercial development from the program "On
the Drawing Board," and a little Port
Orange History from Harold Cardwell. Other
programming includes features from St.
Johns River Water Management District and
the Florida Keys National Marine
Sanctuary. |
