The City Clerk maintains all official records of the City and oversees the regular meeting of and appointment to City boards and Commissions. A sampling of boards includes the Planning Commission, the Environmental Advisory Board, the Construction Regulation Board, the Civil Service Board, the Code Enforcement Board, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, the Library Advisory Board, the Charter Review Board and the Districting Commission. In addition, there are various other boards and ad hoc committees that are created from time to time at the request of the City Council. If you desire to serve on a City board or commission, please contact the City Clerk’s Office (506-5563) for an application or information. City residency is required for most positions, as well as being a registered voter.

The following is an overview of the standard times at which certain boards meet on a monthly basis. All meetings are subject to change. Please contact the City Clerk’s office to verify dates and times.

The City Council - the 1st, 3rd, and 4th Tuesday of each month, 7:00 PM

The Planning Commission - the 4th Thursday of each month, 5:00 PM.

The Construction Regulation Board - the 3rd Wednesday of each month, 4:00 PM.

The Code Enforcement Board - the 1st Wednesday of each month, 5:30 PM.

The Environmental Advisory Board - the 3rd Wednesday of January, April, July and October at 5:30 PM.

The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board - the 2nd Tuesday of every other month, 7:00 PM.

The Regional Library Advisory Board - the 1st Thursday of every other month, 7:00 PM at the Port Orange Regional Library.
