Port Orange Fire & Rescue Earns Perfect Score for Compliance
For Immediate Release October 27, 2005

(Port Orange, Fla.) An unannounced state inspection of emergency medical services earned high praise for Port Orange Fire & Rescue. The inspection found absolutely no deficiencies in Port Orange Fire & Rescue’s services—a perfect score.

Mr. Don Bennett, M.B.A., Chief of the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services for the Florida Department of Health congratulated the Department on their “Outstanding Compliance and thanked them for being a role model of excellence as an EMS Provider in the State of Florida, “ in a letter dated October 12th.

The thorough inspection took place on October 4th. Inspectors check equipment, medicines, employee files and certifications, and vehicles, making certain the medical services are in compliance with all State regulations. “Every aspect of our emergency medical services and their delivery is checked and rechecked,” stated EMS Chief Russell Rafferty. “We hold ourselves to such high standards on a day to day basis. We are very proud to maintain that level and have the State agree with that standard.”

The State of Florida conducts both announced and unannounced Compliance Monitoring for EMS yearly. Port Orange Fire & Rescue strives to consistently score well on these inspections.
