CIVIL ENGINEER (open until Aug. 26, 2005)

City of Port Orange, Florida. Population 53,200 (Contract Position) Hiring Range $42,765 - $55,000, DOE,DOQ. The City of Port Orange is seeking an experienced individual with a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering to perform highly professional work in engineering design, permitting, supervising and construction. Must have the ability to obtain licensure as a Professional Engineer in the State of Florida within one (1) year. The Civil Engineer works under the general supervision of the Community Development Engineer. The Civil Engineer is responsible for performing technical work involving the application of civil engineering techniques and detailed engineering calculations, with a primary emphasis in drainage, and the review and design of all types of projects in the City. The individual also provides technical support and design services to other City Departments providing various services and improvements throughout the City, including roadway construction and drainage.
