The City of Port Orange's

Low Flow Toilet Rebate Program

The low flow toilet rebate program has been in place since 1992. This program, along with the reclaimed water program has delayed the water plant expansion five years.

  • Residential and Commercial buildings are eligible for rebate if the older high flow (3 to 7 gallon per flush, gpf) toilets are replaced with the new low flow 1.6 gpf toilets.

  • The rebate is $50.00 per toilet, for a maximum of two per household or unit.(For our residential and commercial water/sewer customers.)

  • We have issued over 2,400 toilet rebates since the inception of the program in 1992.

  • The American Water Works Association cited an AWWARF study in the April 23, 2000 Waterweek that houses with low flow toilets "realized a 52 percent reduction in per capita water use for toilet flushing."

  • The Public Utilities Department's Programs Coordinator, Mary Kronenberg inspects low-flow toilets every other Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Call 756-5200 to schedule an appointment.

  • Save your receipts, when Mary comes out to inspect, she will take the receipt with her. Your original receipt will be sent back to you along with your rebate check.
